This is some information about The University of the Ryukyus..

The University of the Ryukyus was founded after the end of World War II in May 1950, when Okinawa was
under American administration. The University of the Ryukyus gained its present status as a national
university when Okinawa was returned to Japan in May 1972.
Currently, the University comprised of 7 faculties and 8 graduate departments and has approximately 8,000
students, including 300 international students, 200 instructors, and 800 administrative staff.
In addition, the University of the Ryukyus includes a university library, a university hospital, the Tropical
Biosphere Research Center, the International Student Center, the Lifelong Education and Research Center,
the University Education Center, and a University-affiliated junior high school and elementary school.
